CNC Manufacturing Specialist (577633)

Responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs that manufacture complex Medical Devices on CNC multi-axis machines (i.e. CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, CNC Swiss, CNC Wire EDM) in a fast-paced R&D environment. CNC programs will be developed from supplied engineering drawings, blueprints, solid models, and CAM software. Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers during process engineering; own the development/creation of fixtures, select cutting tools, and create the necessary documents to aid in setting up machines. Assist other set-up people and operators with technical assistance with regard to the programs that are created.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Program, Setup and Operate multi-axis CNC machines from drawings.
Manage all CNC programs in accordance with company policies.
Manage workload and output for assigned equipment.
Design/request custom and standard cutting tools as needed.
Create setup documentation.
Perform a full inspection of part features that are being programmed.
Communicate directly with Manufacturing and Design engineers in solving machining/design problems.
Perform de-burring, part finishing, and part cleaning as required.
Perform housekeeping and preventive maintenance as directed.
Adhere to all company policies with special regard to safety, quality control, regulatory and materials handling.
Fill out all company, departmental, and quality paperwork as required.
Perform process validation activities as required.
Check company email everyday as required to stay current with department and company functions.

Expected Areas of Competence
Strong knowledge of all relevant machinery, tooling, measuring, and gauging equipment and use of proper handling methods in assigned areas.
Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes in assigned area.
Knowledge of proper set-ups for machinery, blue-prints, routers, and set-up files.
Expert knowledge of CNC tooling and setup
Expert knowledge of multi-axis complex CNC machines
Expert knowledge of machine controllers (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Charmilles)
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and objectives.
Ability to work effectively with all levels of employees including engineers, management, and technical professionals
Understands Zimmer Biomet's Quality System including and Zimmer's Compliance Policies.
Advocate of Zimmer Biomet's core values and behaviors.
Education/Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required.
Thorough technical understanding of functional discipline required, which may require advanced training or education as relevant.
Lean manufacturing training preferred.
Lean certification preferred.
3-5 years related experience required.
Travel Requirements
Up to 5%
