Job Description US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED#LI-SMOOT The Tactical Solutions Strategic Business Unit delivers mission system solutions, from specialized antennas to electro-optical technologies, to the warfighterOur systems enhance the performance of various military platforms, from aircraft and land vehicles to ships and satellites, and give warfighters the advantage they need to take action, identify targets and defend against evolving threatsWhat You'll Do:
o Lead a team of ASMs, PMs, and key core engineering staff to conceive, design, develop, test, and transition products into higher-volume production.
Responsible for projecting and realizing quarterly and annual bookings, sales, and profit targets.
Manage and grow a portfolio of current and emerging technology products and systems.
Establish sector strategy aligned with the Mission area strategy to support technical development and business growth.
Provide sound leadership and team building to motivate, influence and effectively apply the sector team members.
Develop and maintain effective internal/external communication systems.
Resolve conflicts, demands and priorities.
Partner with Design for Manufacturing resources and Manufacturing Mission Area to ensure resulting hardware is fully qualified, documented, and ready to enter rate production.
Review technical approaches based on warfighter needs and capability gaps to guide and support the development of components and system solutions towards closing those gaps on cost and scheduleImplement resulting sector growth strategy to include overseeing pursuit and capture activities.
Establish and maintain strategic relationships with major customers both government and industry.
Interact with contracted customers, especially during contract negotiations, major reviews, and problem resolution.
Interface and collaborate with other Sectors, Mission Areas, and Strategic Business Units (SBUs) to align technology development roadmaps and program execution.
Interface and collaborate with Strategic Capabilities Units (SCUs) to ensure program needs are thoroughly understood and future required resources and capabilities are available with the appropriate capacity on the designed timeline.
Review and approve technical and contracting approaches for portfolio development programs.
Ensure appropriate security constructs are in place for Capture, IRAD, CRAD, and program execution activities.
Ensure programs have an established execution baselineReview detailed Risk and Opportunity management plans that tie back to the baselineConduct internal program reviews and provide guidance for recovery or mitigation efforts.
Review major prime and government customer roadmaps, work to align internal strategies, and oversee IRAD and CRAD activities to influence customer roadmap development.
Provide inputs to TS OH, IRAD and B&P budget requests and manage to budget allocationsProvide inputs to the capital planning process.
Provide inputs staffing and facility requirements.
Provide leadership to all employees working in or supporting the sector programs / projects.
Work closely with business partners in Engineering, Integrated Supply Chain, Finance, Security, IT, and Human Resources to formulate and explain needs and follow through with these organizations to make sure the Sector has what it needs to be successful.
Provide leadership, knowledge, business opportunities, strategies, competitive intelligence, market, and legislative forecasts commensurate with financial and strategic plans relative to the purpose noted above to other areas within BAE Systems outside of the Mission area and TS.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the CompanyInteract appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

Ability to lead and effectively negotiate program awards.
Ability to lead Programs and Projects achieving customer cost, technical and schedule requirements.
Comfortability and competency with MS Office computer tools including:
Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint and OfficePreferred Education, Experience, & Skillso Degree in Engineering or Physics.
Experience utilizing standard program status tools.
Earned Value (EV) and Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) including variance reporting.
Program performance reporting status including program highlights, Cost Performance Index (CPI), Schedule Performance Index (SPI), schedule progress, technical status and Customer Relations.
Technical Performance Metrics (TPM's) including current progress of key technical performance parameters against requirements.
Proactive risk and opportunity management against program management baseline.
Contract Change management to control, monitor and resolve internal and external changes related to Program plan.
Experience in program and procurement management responsibilities for tactical hardware.
Experience executing internal research and development projects.
Experience with subcontract management and supplier oversight.
Experience in design, fabrication, test, and transition to production of antenna productsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:
$181000 - $250000 Please note:
